Graduate Trials and Environmental Test Engineer - Direct Entry

This is a fantastic entry level opportunity to join our Engineering team in Belfast, working on the design and development of innovative technical solutions that meet customer requirements and business needs. You will be working on all aspects of the product lifecycle, from requirements capture and analysis through to validation and qualification. An entry level role within Engineering can provide the springboard of opportunity to develop within an exciting business.

In this junior engineering role you will learn from a combination of hands-on coaching and an outstanding variety of work, picking up engineering skills that will serve you well throughout your career. You’ll get to work closely with all engineering skills as well as the functions that are involved in integrated project teams, and you will have opportunities to travel to other Thales sites.

The Trials & Environmental Test Department performs many activities related to testing and performance monitoring of the various defence projects. These activities include test and trial planning and analysis, development and qualification test and trials, missile acceptance processing and in-service support for UK MOD and overseas customers’ trials.

What you'll need

The Graduate Trials and Environmental Test Engineer is a practical role working as part of the trials team reporting to the Head of Trials and Environmental Test. It is a varied and rewarding role that requires commitment and a willingness to travel.

You will have achieved a 2:1 or a 2:2 in a relevant degree such as Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Automotive or Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
You must have a Right to Work in UK and you may also be required to undertake Security Clearance in order to work on some projects.

In line with Thales' Baseline Security requirements, candidates will be asked to provide evidence of identity, eligibility to work in the UK and employment and/or education history for up to three years. Some vacancies may require full Security Clearance which can require further evidence to be provided.
