    The training and simulation business line at Crawley is looking to strengthen the rigour and governance applied to projects and products through the addition of a systems configuration manager to work across a number of activities to support the engineering management teams in the delivery of simulation projects and products.

    The business is also looking to adopt a new PLM and ERP tool over the next year, so this role will play a pivotal part of the rollout and adoption of new business processes.

    Key responsibilities

    • Ensure the integrity of technical data, attributes, and validity throughout the life cycle
    • Ensure the definition, recording and storage of technical data
    • Responsible for verification of the completeness of technical data internally and externally
    • Ensures the return and the provision of technical data to the relevant functions
    • Records configuration baselines and provides status on identified gaps or omissions
    • Manage Change Requests and progress to CCB
    • Manage implementation of approved changes to the technical data
    • Implements the CM Plan
    • Supports/leads audits where required
    • Focus on the quality of what we deliver to the customer, be proactive and look at continually improving the way we work

    About you

    Previous Experience

    • Understanding and appreciate of configuration management principles
    • Understanding the engineering lifecycle
    • Understanding part lifecycle management (PLM) tools and processes
    • Ideally, though not necessarily, 12 months experience working in an engineering environment
    • Ideally, though not necessarily, experience using Oracle 11i or Palma PLM tools
