We are currently recruiting for a Junior Commercial Finance Assistant. Our Commercial Finance team prides itself on providing an intelligent, reliable, and meaningful support function to an extremely busy and growing business operating all over the world.

Work location is either Plymouth or Manchester, UK however we will provide the opportunity to work flexibility between the office and from home.

In This Role, You Will

  • Be a key player in the team and will learn the mechanics of the project side of the business, becoming expert in our project budgeting and management software
  • Build the relationships to work alongside project teams within the business, helping to give insight into the successful delivery of good financial performance
  • Be trained and supported on how to analyse the company financial and time utilization data, enabling you to help build commercial acumen, supporting business decisions
  • Be taught how to interpret and report critical management information to multiple decision makers from project managers to heads of departments and client service directors, ensuring the integrity and quality of data
  • Develop the routines to place timely and vital data at the heart of the business
  • Monitor and report the effects of our work on the continual improvement of the economics of the business

What Will You Be Doing

  • Learning how the agency operates its projects, staffing, procurement, budgeting, schedules, profits, systems (budget management software Procim, project management Smartsheet)
  • Daily / weekly / monthly preparation of management information data in an accurate, reliable and timely fashion
  • Daily technical and user support for the software systems
  • One to one and group training for the software – you will become one of the go-to people for all queries and questions
  • Routine project budget review meetings with the project managers
  • Commercial support to the agency - understanding their targets and data for our clients

What Do You Need To Have

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent preferred
  • A desire to learn and develop to quickly grasp and understand business mechanics and systems
  • Confidence to build relationships and influence good decisions across the business
  • Tenacity with positive good humour and a genuine fondness for people and communicating
  • Ideally have experience working with business information in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly numerate, logical & methodical with strong Excel and analytical skill required
  • Excellent attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
  • Demonstrably high degree of initiative and taking ownership of tasks
