The Role
Reporting to the Head of Treasury, the role is to provide general support to the small Treasury team, taking particular responsibility for the control and operation functions of the Treasury department, which services 28 funds most of whom have some form of debt product. This role will have no Management
Responsibilities
The role will require the individual to liaise with internal stakeholders, primarily the Fund Finance teams and Operations teams, across all the Nuveen Real Estate offices in Europe to ensure Treasury provides Nuveen Real Estate with a strong control environment. This will require good communication and interpersonal skills, as well as an eye for detail and numerical competency. It will also require direct interaction with lenders and lawyers to ensure smooth execution of financing arrangements.
It is not envisaged the candidate will have experience in, nor understand every aspect of, the role at the outset, but this role does require a keen individual with a willingness to learn and apply themselves to take this role forward.
With experience it is envisaged the role will evolve, with greater input relating to other departmental responsibilities of the Treasury team.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The role will take particular responsibility for:
• the input and maintenance of loan and derivative data into the Treasury software programme;
• ensuring records and documentation are accurate and complete for all debt and derivatives on an ongoing basis;
• working closely with the Fund teams to ensure external reporting requirements are met and escalating instances where not;
• producing periodic reports for internal management in relation to the loan and derivative exposures;
• ensuring treasury operating procedures are complied with<
• responding to ad-hoc requests from the Funds;
• supporting the Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer on new and extended real estate financing transactions and ad hoc projects as required.
• Working with external lawyers and internal Fund Finance and Operations teams to deliver legal loan documentation in line with recommended terms and highlighting material deviations, within target deadlines.
Technical Skills & Qualifications Required
• University graduate preferably in a maths, business or a real estate related discipline
• User of MS Excel, Word, Power point and Outlook
• Demonstrate interest in real estate financing
• Demonstrates a willingness to learn and is a pro-active individual
• Preferably an outgoing, confident person
