Internships at TikTok aim to provide students with the chance to work with our clients and teams to address key business problems and identify areas of growth for the company. With your education and experience, you will be able to take on real-world challenges from day one.

Within this role you will be able to

  • Own a research project in symbolic music generation, music information retrieval and related fields.
  • Build prototypes of data-driven music products.
  • Support the team in Machine Learning related tasks including data parsing and cleaning.

Qualifications

  • You must be a current Phd student with a bachelors/masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline
  • Available from June for at least 12 weeks
  • Extensive familiarity with Python and at least one of the most common machine learning libraries (e.g. tensorflow, pytorch, keras) 
  • Strong working knowledge of Machine Learning algorithms and best practices.
  • Experience working in projects using machine learning
  • Solid understanding of music theory
  • Curious, self-driven and self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced collaborative team.

The following experiences are a plus

  • Solid understanding of music theory
  • Music Production experience
  • Digital Signal Processing experience
  • Competent on one or more musical instruments
  • Solid understanding of compositional and production techniques used in Modern Popular Music
