Our recognised Training Programme combines the two most important aspects of our business: our clients and our people. From your very first day you will get involved with real client work and have plenty of client contact, even progressing to running your own cases.

Alongside the training that you receive in-seat, we encourage you to attend our Trainee Development Workshops, where you will gain an understanding of how to grow your personal brand, learn the broad range of skills necessary for business development and forming client relationships, and give you time to reflect on your mental wellbeing and build your resilience.

TLT's separate practice in Northern Ireland opened in 2012 and is based in the heart of Belfast's business district. The office is led by Katharine Kimber, Partner and part of our Banking and Lender Services Group, which has a sizeable team based form the office. We also host a wide range of practice areas including Real Estate, Renewables and Banking.

Our Belfast office ensures we have a presence in all 3 UK legal jurisdictions, allowing a consistent delivery of service to our clients across the UK. This will mean you will be able to work with some of the UK's leading organisations.

To apply for an apprenticeship contract with TLT you must have been offered a place at the Institute of Professional Legal Studies (IPLS) or the Graduate School of Professional Legal Education (GSPLE). If you accept an offer and complete your apprenticeship contract with us, TLT will pay for your IPLS/GSLPE fees.​

Main Responsibilities

With a choice of up to 26 seats depending on your location, you’ll experience every area of legal work from high value court cases to our strong, ongoing partnerships with companies across the UK.

You will have the opportunity to meet a wide range of the firm's employees during the assessment day and will meet some of our current trainees over lunch.

The assessment day will consist of a strengths-based interview, a presentation (on a topic of your choice) and a group exercise.

Our minimum requirements are:

  • 2.1 degree in Law
  • 120 UCAS points at A-Level or equivalent
  • Can- do attitude with an enthusiasm to learn and a great team player
