- In their penultimate year of their MEng Electrical & Electronic Engineering degree (graduating in 2025)
- Note: Master students are eligible to apply for our Engineering internships.
- Available to work in our Westhill office, situated just outside Aberdeen, during the summer months (June to end of August)
- Able to exhibit strong communication skills, attention to detail, an excellent work ethic, a curiosity to learn and basic familiarity with Microsoft applications

The team
The Electrical Engineering Intern will support either the Central North Sea or Northern North Sea field operations team. The role involves providing technical support to the lead engineers in the preparation of a wide variety of electrical engineering projects.
Some of the activities you will be involved in will include:
- Day to Day support of our offshore assets.
- Be involved in many phases of an upgrade project: technical review & evaluation, liaising with vendors and assisting with scope management. Gain understanding of how projects are managed and executed.
- Develop effective databases, learn various software and digital tools.
The role
Our 12-week Summer Internships are a great opportunity to get a taste for working at TotalEnergies and get hands on experience within your field of interest. The programme’s design is multifaceted, ensuring that you receive the opportunities and support needed to develop on a personal and professional level. These include learning workshops, networking opportunities, training sessions and if operationally viable, a site visit.
During the programme you will have an ‘intern supervisor’ to keep you right. They will make sure that you are well looked after, understand your tasks, and encourage your learning and development. You will leave us having had a great experience, with an enhanced knowledge of the energy industry. Give your theoretical understanding a practical application - gain experience far beyond a textbook!
