Main purpose of job

To identify, secure and deliver radioactive waste projects for nuclear and industrial clients using professional scientific, engineering and project management principles. To develop into a Technical Project Manager or Project Engineer following a training and development plan

Duties and Responsibilities

Science and Engineering - Weighting 80%

  • Support to operations research / development and/or radioactive /hazardous waste treatment / consultancy 
  • Working with the team to develop a full understanding of radioactive waste treatment / consultancy through a combination of appropriate on the job training and formal training.  
  • Support projects in line with Tradebe Inutec’s internal management systems and procedures 
  • Ensure specific risks are identified and communicated so that they can be managed / mitigated as appropriate
  • As part of the Engineering team support new project design and build opportunities

Business Development - Weighting 10%

  • Working with Tradebe sales, commercial and operational teams to develop plans, bids and solutions to meet customer needs.

Health and Safety - Weighting 10%

  • Comply with applicable safety, environmental, quality, company procedures / policy, legislative and regulatory requirements

  • Qualified to degree level in a relevant Science or Engineering discipline is essential, ideally in Chemistry or an associated subject (Graduate Scientist) or in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or an associated subject (Graduate Engineer)


Desirable Skills

  • Working towards or holding one or more professional accreditations in Science, Engineering, Project Management or Radiation Protection is desirable (e.g. CChem, CEng, APMP, RWA.)
  • AUTOCAD experience or similar drawing packages (Graduate Engineer)
