As Emerging Talent & Apprenticeships Manager you’ll be central to this as you’ll lead and shape our emerging talent and apprenticeship programmes, ensuring the programmes we offer are developing the skills the business needs now and fit for the future.

    You’ll work with all areas of the business to grow and develop our work experience, school leaver, apprenticeship, placement and graduate programmes and ensure the breadth and depth of the programmes we offer are of the highest standard. We are very proud to be an Employer Provider and deliver some of our own apprenticeships in-house, you will continue to deliver best in class programmes retaining our credibility and status. You’ll be responsible for leading and managing all the processes, policies, relationships and stakeholders related to our early talent and apprenticeship activity.

    About the role

    • Be the face of Emerging Talent and Apprenticeships in the business and build a strong appetite for apprenticeships right across the organisation. You’ll establish strong relationships with functional leaders and HR Business Partners, building their knowledge and capability in regard to apprenticeships. You’ll create a palpable sense of intrigue for all things apprenticeship.
    • Work closely with the HR Business Partners in defining and shaping the Apprenticeship and emerging talent strategy for each area of the business and TUI UK & Ireland as a whole. By working with HR and business leaders you’ll ensure talent and resourcing plans embrace the opportunity for apprentices and that we offer apprenticeships that attract great quality talent.
    • Continually be looking for ways to innovate and develop our emerging talent and apprenticeship activity by staying up to date and connected with external developments and opportunities, as well as spotting and unlocking opportunities internally. You’ll want to better targets and ensure appropriate monitoring and tracking is in place to maximise the use of the Levy funding. You will endeavour to ensure that our higher apprenticeships offer is not only credible and attractive but wherever possible best in class – be that programmes or role specific apprenticeships.
    • Be responsible for leading and managing all the processes, policies, relationships and stakeholders related to our Emerging Talent and Apprenticeship programmes at all levels. This will include budget management and tracking in accordance with all internal and external guidelines as well as robust project management, delivery plans and business and HR policies and processes.
    • Make sure our graduate programmes are aligned to our apprenticeship framework where possible and establish the TUI Masters programme with a suitable partner and ensure successful delivery of the TUI Chartered Management Degree (CMD) programme in partnership with the University of Hertfordshire.
    • Design and Relaunch for delivery a good work experience programme that offers an excellent experience for all participants. You’ll embrace and drive opportunities to build relationships with local secondary schools and other education providers. Working closely with PR you’ll ensure we promote ourselves for our emerging and early talent and apprenticeship activity, celebrating our achievements.
    • Ensure that all possible apprenticeship funding is being claimed and find the most efficient way to use this to support the UK & Ireland talent and apprenticeships agenda working closely with Learning and Development to do so.
    • Meet all required standards in regards to Ofsted and other governing bodies and ensure we’re continually working to be best in class and a leader in apprenticeships achieving a minimum of ‘good’ rating. In support of this you’ll ensure that our information is ready for inspection at any point in time.
    • Work closely with the learning and development teams to build appropriate classroom and e-learning training to support apprenticeship activity and the development of content for programmes such as the TUI CMD, level 5 and 3 programmes using their expertise and skills to do so.
    • Ensure we build a community of early and emerging talent and create opportunities for them to connect and network together, making the most of the opportunities supporting community, outreach and charity activity.
    • You and the team will support other business projects and activities as required.
    • Some travel is required.

    About you

    • Leadership – the ability to shape and lead a team to high performance as individuals and together through the clear setting of direction, coaching and feedback. A leader who has impact and gravitas with senior leaders but can flex their style to engage colleagues at all levels.
    • Project management – strong project planning and management skill with the ability to keep things simple and deliver pragmatic solutions, whilst driving continuous improvement
    • Networking – highly effective at building collaborative relationships, identifying and managing stakeholders both internal and external and influencing others to deliver
    • Apprenticeships – experience of managing apprenticeship programmes and activity and understanding of the business and Ofsted requirements for delivering and maintaining apprenticeship programmes.
    • Communication – a strong communicator both verbally and written with the ability to promote activity internally through building the Apprenticeships and Early talent brand and storytelling around the value Apprenticeship and Early talent activity delivers.
    • Business acumen – understanding of developing and delivering a service culture that drives business growth, broad business experience, an understanding of organisation design and the ability to manage budgets tightly.
    • Emotionally intelligent – the ability to read individuals and situations and with strong communication skills, someone who is a role model for others and a leader who ‘walks the talk’.
    • HR experience highly desirable
