This is a remarkable opportunity to play a key part in the growth of a rapidly expanding and unique organisation, the Institute of Art and Ideas (IAI). In collaboration with the world’s leading thinkers, the IAI develops and identifies cutting edge ideas and  conveys them to the national and international pubic through our events, festivals and our educational media platforms, described by the Guardian as “Europe's answer to TED”.

As Media Production Intern you will work closely with the IAI’s Media Content and Editorial teams from our headquarters in central London. The role will be focussed on the post-production and editing of debates, talks and courses filmed at our annual festival HowTheLightGetsIn.You will play an important role in the production of high quality online content for release on our debate platform and to international broadcast clients. There may also be the opportunity to produce video trailers, social media assets and podcasts.

You will also be a part of the on-site film team at any upcoming events, and be integral in the creation of new and exciting video content. The role offers a range of experience across production and post production, and has scope for rapid advancement within the team.

All applicants will need a strong grasp of current affairs, culture, and the history of ideas, and have a good understanding of how to construct a gripping, newsworthy story. Experience with editing software (Final Cut Pro 7, Adobe Premiere, Protools) is not necessary but is advantageous, and a keen desire to work in media is a must.

The internship will last up to 3 months. Travel and food expenses paid. We recruit for this role on a rolling basis so start date is negociable and flexible.
