Job Description

This position is offered within the Ireland Optum Actuarial ecosystem and will involve working with members of both Optum Advisory Services (OAS) and Risk and Quality (RQ) teams. The role will help you develop your skills through some or all of the following activities

  • Initiating, compiling and preparing analytical models, tools and databases
  • Assisting in the development of actuarial data architecture and assumption setting
  • Conducting and documenting moderately complex analyses and research
  • Preparing, forecasting, and analyzing trends
  • Providing detailed summaries, reports and recommendations to assist in managerial decision making
  • Maintaining the necessary communication and coordination with colleagues, stakeholders, and clients in multiple locations

Required Skills

  • Good communication and presentation style
  • Programming skills (e.g. R, Python, SQL) would be an advantage

Candidates to be considered

This role is open to anyone currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science or Financial Mathematics in an accredited college/university.

  • This full-time intern position will start in Summer 2022
  • This internship will last for 12 months and is a UK telecommuter position
