The A Side: A Day in The Life

The intern will assist the Promotions team and 3rd Party agencies in all areas of promotion to ensure the smooth running of the department.

The B Side: Skills & Experience

Be Administrative and Operational

  • Assist the Promotions Department with general admin duties
  • To be the point person internally and externally for the promotions department
  • Compile & share daily/weekly promotions reports for example National & Specialist Radio report, Streaming and stations playlists
  • Assist promotions dept. with sending assets when necessary including videos, lyrics, riders, equipment lists, label copy, publicity photos
  • Assist and coordinate requests from out of house promotional companies for relevant artists including promo stock items, tickets, travel and invoices
  • Order promotional stock on behalf of the team (physical stock/merchandise/gig tickets), distribute and keep a note of quantities
  • Co-ordinate travel for department, artists, musicians, dancers, competition winners, glam squad, etc. and provide full itineraries when necessary
  • Co-ordinating guest lists for tours and showcases
  • Attending gigs/events during out of office hours
  • To maintain and manage Uniport – Universal’s internal finance system ensuring promotional expenses are paid and managed within approved budgets keeping your line manager and finance manager informed

Person Specification

Necessary

  • Passionate about music with a desire to progress in the industry
  • Great attention to detail
  • Interest to work within Promotions
  • Good general knowledge about Radio & TV in the UK (stations, shows, performances)
  • The ability and willingness to learn quickly
  • Self-motivated, hardworking and enthusiastic
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organised with the ability to keep calm under pressure
  • Flexible and able to prioritise own workload
  • Good computer skills i.e.: Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word

Desirable

  • Experience of working in an office environment
  • Experience working in music (personal or professional)
