We invite applications for a Research Assistant to join our team at the University of Cambridge. The post holder will help to manage and run the radiocarbon sample preparation and graphitisation facility in the Department of Earth Sciences. The successful candidate must have sufficient experience with manual graphitisation of carbonate materials for the purpose of radiocarbon dating to work independently. Applicants should ideally also have experience in sediment processing (wet sieving) and micropalaeontology for the purposes of picking marine planktonic and benthic foraminifera.

The successful candidate will be educated to first degree level in a relevant subject such as Earth and/or Environmental Science. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential, alongside an ability to work both independently and effectively as part of a team.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 29 November 2025 in the first instance.
