The Whittan Group is the largest manufacturer of steel storage products in the United Kingdom. Operating through a number of market leading brands we design, manufacture and install storage solutions for commercial and industrial environments in the UK and Europe.
We are looking for a Graduate Structural Engineer to join our busy and growing organisation. This is a great development opportunity for a newly qualified graduate with a Meng/BEng/BSc or equivalent in Structural or Civil engineering. The role will involve providing technical support to the Whittan Group, including the design and analysis of structural frameworks and components in cold/hot rolled steelwork.
Key responsibilities
- Delivery of concept and detailed structural schemes to Sales and Design.
- Calculations of cold-formed steel structures to prevailing standards (EN codes and storage industry standards).
- Involvement in product testing and interpretation of results.
- Develop software to standardise calculation processes.
- Ability to explain calculations to various stakeholders with different knowledge levels
Required experience/skills/qualifications
- MEng/BEng/BSc or equivalent in Structural or Civil Engineering
- Confident communicator.
- Structural design experience is desirable but not essential.
- Proficient user of CAD is desirable but not essential.
- Ability to be able to work within a team.
