Overview - Ford

VML is one of the lead marketing communications agencies for Ford Motor Company across Europe. Working within a wider WPP team with other key WPP OpCos, we are responsible for the development of Ford's marketing strategy and communications plan.

Our Ford client is in the midst of an exciting marketing transformation, shifting from traditional brand-focused approaches to a dynamic, CRM and performance-led strategy aimed at driving sales growth.

The role

  • As a junior copywriter you will review and write compelling, beautifully constructed copy across e-mails, social posts and radio scripts for both B2C & B2B
  • Generate fresh and effective copy in response to creative briefs.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding and knowledge of consumer behaviour in all relevant channels.
  • Write with speed, consistency, accuracy and creative flair. Able to respond positively to feedback from client and to meet their comments.
  • Demonstrate excellent grammar and spelling skills, which require minimal amends from proofreading.
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines and to accommodate priority tasks.
  • Work closely with the Account Teams and Creative Lead to deliver excellence in the creative response.
  • Build trusting relationships with colleagues and clients alike.
  • Contribute to culture in the creative department and whole agency
  • Work collaboratively - recognises the value and responsibility of working in a team and seeks to maintain and build effective relationships both internally and externally.
  • Demonstrates 'passion' - approaches all tasks in a wholehearted and enthusiastic manner.
  • Recognise the need for management support when necessary.

Key tasks

  • Reviewing central copy translations and correcting for local language requirements
  • Writing local copy for campaign headlines, CRM, NWP and Radio activity
  • Working with production hub creative resource to develop local campaigns and to localise central activity
  • Working with creative lead to provide creative recommendations based on market and competitive activity
