Context for the role

Digital channels such as YouTube and social networks attract billions of video views every month. That's a lot of people watching video online, and therefore also consuming video advertising in non-traditional formats. Skippable ads, stories, bumpers, Snap ads, TikToks, interactive ads, AR and more. With this ever-expanding list of formats, it's no surprise that advertisers struggle to master the best approach for each.

At Essence, we work to unpick this. We've created a video team that understands the needs and demands of each channel and its ad formats. We deliver best-in-class video advertising and create the most compelling video for the audience.

About the role

Reporting into the Head of Video Creative, you'll be a key part of the video production team, working in an exciting, fast-paced and highly creative environment. We're looking for someone who lives and breathes motion, video and animation, and who's creativity and passion as well as technical ability shine through - regardless of professional experience. Whether you've already been working in the industry, or you've spent your free time creating beautiful videos and animations, we want to hear from you if you have a passion for the work, and the digital and social channels you'll be creating for.

What you'll do

  • Create, edit, animate new and existing video and still assets
  • Produce videos and animations for social channels and YouTube with best practices in mind
  • Liaise with our team of producers, with support from the Head of Video Creative and Video Editor/Videographer
  • Deliver videos to brief with creative support and oversight from senior creatives
  • Participate in ideation sessions and contribute to the creative evolution of the work and the department
  • Have a keen eye for detail and the ability to take on board constructive criticism
  • A passion for the work and desire to learn and develop

What we're looking for

  • A minimum of 2 years experience of motion graphics and video creation
  • Ability to animate images, text, objects and layers with existing assets as well as creating new ones
  • Video and audio editing skills
  • Strong skills with After Effects, Premiere, Photoshop, Audition and the rest of the Adobe Creative Suite, as well as FCPX
  • Someone who knows digital video channels and social platforms inside out - a regular on Snap, TikTok, Twitter, as well as YouTube, Facebook and IG and the rest!
  • A team player who loves to work collaboratively
  • An impressive portfolio of work showing your talent and creative flair

Bonus points for

  • Ability to work with 3D
  • An interest in new developments in video - interactive, AR etc
  • Experience of working with and creating automated video templates
  • Illustration/animation skills
  • Experience creating video advertising
