Your new role, what's involved?

As an Energy and Sustainability Graduate Consultant you are likely to work in the areas of low-carbon technologies and energy efficiency in order to develop decarbonisation strategies, typically in the built environment, for UK and global organisations in the commercial, industrial, healthcare and public sectors. Given the growth in importance for public and private organisations to meet Net Zero, this role will offer the opportunity to be at the forefront of the energy and sustainability sector and directly contribute towards achieving crucial climate targets.

Our Sustainability and Climate Change team is looking for graduates with an academic/technical background in engineering with experience or postgraduate studies in the energy and sustainability sector. Our preferred office location is London.

The role will involve both technical and non-technical work, as well as opportunities to engage with clients. We are looking for someone proactive, not a box-ticker.

Every project will be a new challenge and you will be routinely asked to work on new methodologies and with wider teams, such as our Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Industry, Transport, Utilities, Renewables or Economics teams.

Energy and Sustainability Graduate Consultants are expected to work towards Chartered Engineer status through a UK professional body (e.g. Energy Institute, CIBSE).

We'd love to hear from you if you have

  • You’ll be graduating in 2022 or have recently graduated with at least a 2:1 in a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Energy Engineering, Sustainable Energy, or similar
  • You’ll be passionate with the curiosity and creativity to solve problems
  • You’ll want to stretch and inspire us, speaking up about any new ideas you have
  • You’ll want to throw yourself in from day one and put your studies into practice
  • You’ll have excellent communication skills
  • You’ll enjoy working in a team environment, sharing ideas and collaborating with colleagues
  • You’ll have confidence to work under pressure with the ability to prioritise and plan effectively

Please note behavioural assessment results (also referred to as game-based assessment) at WSP are valid for a period of 12 months. If you have completed an assessment within this timeframe and been unsuccessful we will not be able to consider your application.

Early applications are recommended and we reserve the right to close this vacancy prior to the advertised closing date.
