About us
Southampton Economics Society provides support for students throughout their degree, from career insight events to advice on securing places on graduate schemes. With academic events, networking opportunities and panels with both industry professionals and older students and graduates, we are focused on helping students explore their passion for economics and break into the competitive finance industry. Moreover, we aim to create a vibrant community of students interested in Economics through social activities such as Games nights.
Our goals
- SES aims to help each individual student develop their skillset and maximise their potential. So far, we have hosted events with firms including Man Group, Smith & Williamson and Bain & Co, and applications workshops run by Bright Network. These each provided invaluable advice and exposure to career opportunities.
- Through running icebreakers and social events, we aim to create a community of students to help them network and succeed from the beginning of their course. Our football, netball and basketball teams help to support students’ extracurricular interests and help make the most of their talents.
