Securing a graduate role at Fujitsu - Top tips from Alisha

Created on 10 May 2018

A huge congratulations to Alisha for getting herself a fantastic graduate role at Fujitsu. Here she gives us some great insights to the recruitment process and offers some advice to future applicants.

Why did you choose this firm and this role?:

I chose this firm because I thought that the ICT industry is one that is rapidly expanding and evolving at the minute and that's an environment I wanted to be in. I was also impressed by the company CSR initiatives which is also of importance to me. Project Management is something I've always wondered about as I have a natural tendency to be organised and enjoy anything that involves coordination and just generally getting things done on time!

What was the most challenging part of the application process? And your favourite part?:

The application process for me matched industry/graduate scheme standards quite closely. I do remember actually being cut off almost in my video interview so it's important to watch out for the timer!

I really enjoyed the assessment centre; even though it was a full day I enjoyed the experience and the activities are designed in such a way you don't even feel as if you're at an assessment day which is helpful for your performance.

Were you surprised by anything in the process?:

I was surprised by the atmosphere of the assessment centre. You hear a lot of stories about assessment centres however, with this one, I really impressed.

What three top tips would you give your fellow Bright Network members?:

  1. Do some research about your role for the interview
  2. Look at your timings on your video interview!
  3. Be yourself at the assessment centre, they're not trying to catch you out.

What was the toughest question you faced at interview?

"If you got the job, would you take it?" - I really wasn't sure if that was a trick question but the answer was of course yes 😊
