We recently caught up with Elia about how they secured a graduate role with BDO, how Bright Network helped them secure the role and their top tips for members looking to follow in their footsteps.
What stood out to you about BDO?
I had always heard about how great BDO’s company culture is and that they really care for their employees’ welfare. That was really important for me, as I understood that the role may require long working hours and having a firm that’s supportive and understanding of work-based difficulties was something I really looked for.
What would be your top tip to members following in your footsteps?
Persistence is definitely something you need to have. There comes a point where you are applying with many other candidates when trying to secure a role, and there may not be much separating you. Being able to keep applying, always looking to learn, conducting good solid research, really does make a difference.
How did Bright Network help you secure your role?
I took part in Internship Experience UK held by Bright Network and managed to see the BDO workshop they held. I got to learn valuable insight into the company which proved useful in the interview. Where I was able to discuss the experience, insights I’d learned and how they could be applied to the role at BDO.
