Created on 12 Sep 2017

Femi has a place on a Markets Research Internship with Barclays. He secured it after a Spring Week at the firm, which he heard about in an email from Bright Network. He stopped by at the Champagne stand at the Bright Network Festival to tell us a bit about his upcoming role and to pick up his bottle of bubbly.

Why did you choose a Markets Research Internship at Barclays?

It is a company which places a huge emphasis on the culture, and this is something which I really felt during my time at the Spring Week. Furthermore, it is a world-leading, household name bank, and this really enticed me to apply. I chose Research as it is an exciting role, which I feel relates very much to my skillset

What was the toughest part of the application process? And your favourite part?

The toughest part of the process was the video interview. This is because it was something that I am not very used to. My favourite part of the interview was the question on a virtual email. This gave me the chance to display how I work under pressure, as I was required to write a response to the situation under timed conditions.

Were you surprised by anything in the process?

I was surprised by the convenience of the whole process, as well as the quick responses from the Recruitment team.
