Securing a graduate role at IBM - Top tips from Jack, a Technology Consultant

Bright Network member Jack will graduate this year, from Durham Universisty, with a degree in Physics, and has now secured himself a role at IBM. Read below to find out how he found the application process and his top tips for fellow members.

Why did you choose this firm and this role?

A speaker from IBM came into uni and as I had been looking at tech consultancy beforehand so I decided to apply. The Tech Consultancy role has a good salary and benefits, along with great career progression.

What was the toughest part of the application process? And your favourite part?

I think that the toughest part of the process for me was the IPAT test, but my favourite was definitely the assessment day.

Were you surprised by anything in the process?

How personable the staff were.

What three top tips would you give your fellow Bright Network members?

Tip 1: Be yourself.

Tip 2: Research IBM.

Tip 3: Prepare examples of key competencies.
