Surrey graduate Callum has secured a Nuclear Engineering graduate role with EDF – congratulations Callum! We caught up to hear about Callum’s experience of the application process and his top tips for those looking to follow in his footsteps.
What drew you to apply for EDF?
I had previously done a placement with EDF, which I really enjoyed it, so this drew me to the firm.
What did the application process involve?
Unfortunately, I can't say - the process is very confidential! What I will say is that it is not at all what you would expect.
What was the most enjoyable and most challenging part of the application process?
The application itself was the most challenging part of the process. I don't write bulk, untailored applications, so researching everything and aiming it specifically at the company was hard. The interview was also very tough. I didn't feel very prepared by the practice interviews I had done, so I had to really think on my feet with the questions I was asked.
What would be your tips for members looking to follow in your footsteps?
Get a good night’s sleep the night before, and make sure you leave early for the interview so you are on time!
