Securing a Tax graduate role at KPMG - Top tips from Rowan

Created on 10 Aug 2017

We recently caught up with Rowan, who has secured a role with KPMG as a Tax Graduate. Rowan shared his experience of the application process, his best piece of career advice and why he was drawn to KPMG.

What drew you to apply for KPMG?

The fact that KPMG are one of the ‘Big 4’ was a real draw for me. I knew that I would be able to carve out a solid career with them.

What did the application process involve?

After completing an online application, I competed a telephone interview. After this, there was a launch pad event where there was a group assessment and an individual interview.

What was the most enjoyable and most challenging part of the application process?

The final Interview was hardest part I’d say, as I think you can prepare for other aspects of the application process with practice - but sometimes you can’t tell how an interview is going to go.

What’s the best piece of career advice you’ve ever been given?

Start as early as you can on your applications. I applied for the role just one week after the role opened, so I think this puts you in the best possible position.

And finally … what will you spend your first pay check on?

I think I would buy a big TV or a games console!
