Tengiz discovered McKinsey & Co through one of the Bright Network Festivals, and has since gone on to secure himself a Graduate Role as a Business Analyst.
Why did you choose a Business Analyst role at McKinsey & Co?
McKinsey has incredible mentoring, and so produces bright and driven people to work with. It also has some of the most complex and interesting challenges to work on due to its excellent reputation. This role was the right role to apply for as a graduate interested in consulting.
What was the toughest part of the application process? And your favourite part?
The problem solving test (PST) was probably the toughest part, due to the shortage of practice material and the difficulty to gauge whether you are getting good scores when you do practise! My favourite parts were the face to face interviews. It was really important to me to get the opportunity to ask questions you had to partners and employees about their opinions on things and how they spend their time.
Were you surprised by anything in the process?
No, everything during their process was exactly as they described. Their website explains the format of things, meaning you can get a good idea of what to expect.
What three top tips would you give your fellow Bright Network members?
1) Practise as much as possible for the PST
2) Do extra research on the company and show it off during interviews
3) Prepare for any questions you think might come up in the interview
