GONZALO MARTINEZ ROMERO, ANALYST, MADRID
“I first joined Compass Lexecon for an internship in 2018, while completing a double degree in International Management and Business Engineering at the Université Catholique de Louvain. I was integrated with the team and given the opportunity to contribute from day one. After a year in Ivey Business School and ESADE Business School, I joined as a research analyst. The best aspect of my work is the opportunity to apply economics and empirical techniques to real-world cases, to work with high-profile firms and learn from talented colleagues. The work environment is dynamic and the opportunities to develop yourself are limitless. If you want to challenge yourself and work hard on intellectually stimulating challenges this is definitely a place for you!”
SARA COSIMO, SENIOR ANALYST, BRUSSELS
“I joined Compass Lexecon in March 2018 after completing an internship here. I hold a M.Sc. and B.A. in Economics and Social Sciences from Bocconi University. During my Master’s, I also interned at UBS and the European Commission. My work involves the economic and econometric analysis in merger, cartel, and abuse of dominance cases and spans a range of industries including online platforms, FMCG and cosmetics. I have got so much more out of working at Compass Lexecon than I expected, including fun, hard- working and inspiring colleagues who are always open to new ideas and eager to help you learn. There is a precious sense of teamwork that I have rarely encountered elsewhere.”
MATHIEU GIMENEZ, ECONOMIST, PARIS
“I joined Compass Lexecon’s energy practice in Paris in April 2018. Prior to this, I earned a M.Sc. in Engineering from Mines Paristech. I then worked in the Renewable Energy Department of the energy regulator CRE, where I designed and implemented the regulatory frameworks for electrical energy storage, energy efficiency and demand response in the French overseas territories. Since joining Compass Lexecon, I have worked on numerous high- profile projects ranging from market design to network regulation, in both electricity and gas. I have had the opportunity to work directly with a variety of organisations worldwide. The intellectual challenges and enriching exchanges with colleagues and clients create a working environment where you can thrive.”
MARTINA CALDANA, SENIOR ECONOMIST, LONDON
“I joined Compass Lexecon in 2014, after training at the European Commission and at the UK CMA. Prior to that, I completed an M.Sc. and a B.Sc. in Economics from Bocconi University. Since joining, I have advised clients on various matters, with a particular focus on global and European merger cases. My work allows me to combine the technical economic and analytical skills from my studies, with the managerial skills developed in my role.
Compass Lexecon gave me the chance to progress quickly in my career, with plenty of training and learning opportunities. I really appreciate the supportive environment and the constant focus on work-life balance.”
