Sara Peskin kicked off her career in Visa Europe's 9 month HR graduate scheme. Currently working with the Compensation and Benefits team, supporting on all activities relating to pensions, benefits and compensation, Sara lets us know how she has built her confidence and why Visa Europe is a fantastic place to work. What initially attracted you to the role?
Visa Europe’s HR graduate scheme is pretty unique. The scheme offered me the opportunity to rotate through various teams within HR, allowing me to gain exposure to various areas of the team so that I could become a well-rounded HR professional. When researching the role it seemed like it could be tailored to my sepcific interests which was really appealing as it would give me the opportunity to develop.
How would you describe the culture?
There is a really opened minded culture at Visa Europe, where differences are embraced and celebrated. From day one I felt I could be my true self at work. I was able to join the Visa Young Professionals network, which has allowed me to meet like-minded individuals early on in their careers. This is a great way to get to know others who are in the same position as you. Visa also have a brilliant mentoring scheme which has helped me to feel settled from the start.
What's your favourite task/project you've worked on?
I am currently running a project on improving collaboration within HR. This has involved creating an organisational chart for HR and wider business use - this will be presented to the whole HR division. This has been a great opportunity to meet and work with others outside of my team. It’s also given me the opportunity to really add value to the wider team and hopefully improve the overall cohesiveness.
