Angela | Life as an Account Manager at Quadmark

Book open Reading time: 1 min

I started my career in operations in financial services with degrees in Applied Economics and Finance from De La Salle University in the Philippines. I soon realised that checking trades on a daily basis was not for me. I switched to a training role and fell in love with it.

Life led me to Singapore where I learned how to cook, clean, and order at hawker centres. To fill my time, I completed a post grad diploma in data analytics. After a career break, I now work as an account manager for Quadmark, handling a learning & development account.

What has been the single most important thing you learnt so far in your job?

You cannot do and control every single thing about a project. It will create unnecessary stress and will make your days less enjoyable. Trust the team, collaborate, and delegate!

What would a ‘normal’ day look like for someone in your role?

Planning and firefighting. We plan all the projects, make sure we can deliver on time, and complete the project within budget. But at the same time, you cannot predict all the delays or what might change. Be ready to make last-minute decisions to meet client deadlines while also maintaining a reasonable internal timeline.

Any tips for anyone who’d like to apply for a role at Quadmark?

You have to be able to substantiate what you say with actual work. Be prepared to work hard and ask questions if you're unsure.
