Job summary
Introba is seeking a Graduate Mechanical Engineer for our London office. The ideal Graduate Mechanical Engineer will support the whole project consultancy process day to day (rather than strategically) by providing design input. Through good communication represent the company on projects with periodic quality review by others. Work to enhance the reputation of Introba Consulting for delivering Building Services Excellence through knowing and performing the Company’s technical duties, processes and standards.

Responsibilities
- Prepare and issue detailed design drawings in sketch and formal drawing format suitable for presenting finished information to Clients and other design professionals and contractors.
- Routine project activities such as filing, documentation, document issue, posting etc. in line with the Team needs and adequately communicate by verbal, graphical and written means, technical points, thoughts and ideas to other staff, professionals and clients.
- Carry out calculations and select appropriate equipment etc. in line with Company key skills list and compile complete packages of tender information.
- Design and detail straightforward engineering systems.
- Graduate Mechanical Engineers will undertake environmental analysis including energy performance analysis, MEP systems simulation, compliance analysis against UK and international energy codes (Part L, ASHRAE 90.1 Appendix G), daylight, sun/shade, glare, external microclimate, CFD.
- Maintain and/or develop a broad understanding of sustainability issues as they relate to the built environment including application of LEED, BREEAM, FITWEL and other international benchmarking systems and develop building models including the use of building simulation software and Revit drafting software.
- Illustrate concepts and prepare written reports and attend routine site meetings and carry out site surveys. Monitor and report on the quality and progress of work on site.
- Prepare budget costs and produce designs to meet agreed budget and work within team environment and be able to instruct support staff in their work as it relates to the projects under the Engineers control.
- Act professionally with all parties on the clients work so as to develop the company’s reputation and achieve continued professional development in areas relevant to the achievement of personal objectives and as a contribution to those of the company.
- Contribute to the development of the company so as to enhance its reputation, such as social value, corporate social responsibility, CIBSE YEN, young engineer groups, LETI and attending UK-Green Building Council events and co-operate with and support other teams and Company staff in a pro-active way so that their objectives are met along with self-development and company support to undertake graduate training plan to achieve CEng status.
- Carry-out Project/Team Specific activities as defined from time to time by Supervisor and maintain and/or develop a broad understanding of sustainability issues as they relate to the built environment including application of BREEAM, FITWELL, LEED, Passivhaus, WELL and other international benchmarking systems.
- To contribute to and be involved in circular economy workshops and preparing circular economy reports and undertake embodied carbon studies and identify opportunities to provide a reduction in embodied carbon both for whole life and MEP equipment.
- To undertake embodied carbon and LCA R&D, if required, to further improve and develop Introba’s service offerings and advise other Construction Team Professionals on their own activities related to design.
Qualifications

- Proficient in using Microsoft’s Office Suite and experience using CAD tools and packages, Revit and AutoCAD are preferred.
- Experience of thermal modelling software such as IESVE is preferred and a basic knowledge of environmental assessment methods such as BREEAM, LEED is desirable.
