Meet Amit, Business Support Associate at AGS

Book open Reading time: 2 mins

Alongside completing my Master’s degree in International Business, I was actively looking for a full-time role for when I had finished my studies. The original plan was to complete my degree, take a month off and then start a full-time role. However, an amazing opportunity came along from Allegis Global Solutions (AGS) whilst I still had 3 months of studying remaining, including one of the most important modules, the dissertation. As this was an amazing opportunity, I chose to re-evaluate my plans and decided to take the job with my final exams still due, not having any idea of how I would manage both workloads together.

When I started at AGS, it was a fully remote working environment due to the COVID-19 pandemic, therefore all my introductions with the team and leadership were via Microsoft Teams. I originally imagined that this would be extremely awkward, and I was feeling nervous, but the team were so welcoming, and all my nerves were gone instantly. The entire team have always been readily available to hear my queries or any concerns that I had despite their busy schedules. I have regular 1-2-1 meetings with my manager to see how I am getting on and if I need help with anything.

From the very start during my training period, I felt like a valued member of the team. Within three months of being in the role, I was given my own client with my own contractor base. This was a very exciting moment for me as throughout my training, I was waiting for the day I have my own client to handle and have my own contractors. AGS put their trust in me and gave me their new client Sky. This clearly showed me that AGS are willing to support their employees and give them the opportunity to succeed in a short period of time.

One of the main elements I appreciate about AGS is that the whole organisation prioritises personal development. I have regular 1-2-1 meetings with my manager on how I can develop my current skillset and how I can learn new skills. These meetings really motivate me to grow and develop in my current role which will enable me to progress within the organisation. I highly value the time and effort that AGS put into personal development sessions to really enhance our employee’s development.

If I was to sum up my last 10 months at AGS, I would say that every day there is something new and there is so much to learn. You will definitely keep growing your personal attributes at AGS with our massive emphasis on personal development.
