Meet Natalie Moore, Director at PKF Littlejohn

Book open Reading time: 2 mins

I’m Natalie, 33 and I was born in Barking and now live in Upminster with my dog Zookie who is a German shepherd crossed with a Japanese akita. I love going on holiday, travelling to new places and eating lots of lovely foods.

What is your role and how long have you been at PKF?

I joined PKF Littlejohn in 2007 as part of the Business Services Audit team, qualifying under AAT and ACCA in 2012 and became an audit manager. Then I moved teams, progressing to Director and Head of Outsourcing Team.

What inspired you to apply for this role with PKF?

I knew I was interested in accountancy as I had studied it at A-level, and knew university wasn’t for me as I wanted practical work experience. PKF was a reputable firm in a great location, and could offer me the experience I was looking for, as well as the support and opportunity to progress.

What has been the single most important thing you learnt so far in your job?

I’ve learnt how important it is to push yourself to learn more and try new things to build upon your experiences. This has not only helped me to develop professionally, but also personally, and has helped me to grab opportunities when they arise.

What would a ‘normal’ day look like for someone in your role?

Lots of meetings and lots of conversations – no two are ever the same! I speak with prospective clients, existing clients, team members, other departments, PKF network firms and software providers in order to co-ordinates accounting, financial reporting, payroll and company secretarial services. Each conversation presents something different so keeps my day interesting!

What do you find most interesting with the sector/industry you’re in?

The variety of work and clients. We complete management accounts, VAT, statutory accounts, accounting system set up, advanced reporting, ad hoc projects, and that’s to name a few! Our clients are in different industries, they are all different sizes, and at different stages of their business journey!

What is the company culture like?

Company culture really is great at PKF. Our people are very friendly and there’s a great team atmosphere. It’s been great to have built solid relationships with my team as well as others across the firm.

How important is diversity to you and what is PKF doing in this space at the moment?

PKF is a great advocate for diversity and inclusion, and we all support each other to continue to better understand one another.

I think itis important to have a variety of skill sets in the team, everyone has something different and unique to offer! As times continue to change, so does the status quo and it is important to be adaptable and open to change, working with as many people as you can to support your objectives.

Finally, any tips for anyone who’d like to apply for a role at PKF?

Always be yourself and bring your values to the table. I’d say to be honest and open as we understand that a new role has its challenges and we want to support you.
