Securing a graduate role with PwC - Top tips from Daisy, an Audit Graduate

Created on 25 Jan 2018

Bright Network member Daisy, recently shared her experience of successfully applying for her Graduate Role in Audit at PwC. Read below to find out what she thought and her advice for her fellow members looking to follow in her footsteps.

Why did you choose this firm and this role?

I chose PwC because it offers great opportunities for training and development which I think is very important at the start of any career. There is great scope for movement within the firm which also provides flexibility in the long term. I was reassured by every encounter that I had with someone who worked there, since they seemed happy and were very helpful with any questions I had. I completed an internship before accepting the graduate role which meant that I had the chance to make sure that it was the right decision for me.

What was the toughest part of the application process? And your favourite part?

The toughest part of the application was the either the telephone interview or the psychometric tests. However the woman who interviewed me made me feel comfortable quite quickly and there are many online psychometric test resources which I practiced beforehand so it could've been much worse! I most enjoyed the assessment centre because if gave me a chance to meet new people and I enjoyed the group activity very much.

Were you surprised by anything in the process?

I was surprised at how quickly it all took place. The feedback and communication after each stage was very quick and personal, which meant that I could use the feedback for the next stage and I didn't have to wait long for it.

What three top tips would you give your fellow Bright Network members?

1) Read the Bright Network Commercial Awareness Update. I found it more useful than any other source for specific infromation that hepled with commercial awarenss.

2) Try and enjoy the process because the positivity that comes through will work in your favour.

3) Don't be afraid to ask questions because it means that you are making the most of the resources you have and it shows interest.

What's your lucky charm or pre-interview ritual?

A wish every day at 11:11, but make the wish achieveable!
