Created on 9 Feb 2018

Jaina attended our Technology Top 150 event and next year will join HP whilst on her year in industry before heading back to Loughborough to finish her degree in International Business. See what Jaina had to say about the process below.

Why did you choose this firm and this role?

I always wanted to work within the technology sector and this role really appealed to me as it took into account my love of tech, and my strength with statistics.

What was the toughest part of the application process? And your favourite part?

The toughest part for me was the telephone interview as it was the first interview I was offered. My favourite part was before the final interview when I spoke with managers at HP about their experiences of working at HP and how they think HP will expand in the future.

Were you surprised by anything in the process?

I was surprised with how thorough employers are and the level of detail they go into, especially during the final interview stages.

What three top tips would you give your fellow Bright Network members?

1) Be yourself, employers can really tell when you try and change yourself for a position
2) Know your CV back to front
3) Be persistent and send follow up emails after each stage of the application process to show your passion for the role and the company

What was the toughest question you faced at interview?

What kind of role do you take in a team & how do you think this will benefit HP?
