Pracedo Welcomes New Apprentices in 2020

Book open Reading time: 4 mins

Pracedo recently welcomed our newest group of apprentices to the company! We worked with LDN apprenticeships to deliver a Virtual Career Kickstarter and interview day where we hired 4 ambitious apprentices. We caught up with them and had a chat about how they're finding their Pracedo journey so far.

Matthew Rosete is interested in the development side of Salesforce and in his free time he enjoys playing musical instruments and basketball.

Why did you choose an apprenticeship in the Salesforce ecosystem?

I saw Salesforce as a great way to learn new things. The software is so big that it gave me a real opportunity to continue pushing myself and learning throughout my career. I also liked the way it creates so many self-learning resources like Trailhead which allows me to learn in my own time at my own pace, something I’ve always found helpful. It also gives me an opportunity to branch off into something like a developer later on in my career.

What attracted you to Pracedo when looking for an apprenticeship?

The company feels like a massive family and everyone is really happy and eager to help everyone else. I also liked the 1% Pledge and the philanthropic approach Pracedo have taken around that.

What would you say to others wanting to follow in your footsteps?

Don’t hesitate to take this leap of faith. I recommend getting started with trailheads as soon as you can as it will help in the interview process and show that you’ve got a real interest in the industry. You should also get exposed to the ecosystem and absorb as much as you can.

Olivia Schneegass-Wilson is a recent graduate in English Literature who’s swapping analysing Shakespeare for Salesforce. In her free time she is often found bonding with neighbourhood cats.

What attracted you to Pracedo when looking for an apprenticeship?

The culture and environment at Pracedo seemed really nice. It has a small company feel because of the way colleagues work together but we are obviously working with big customers. It was so clear that the culture was lovely and supportive. There were lots of really strong capable women which I met in the interview which was really comforting.

What's been a highlight for you so far?

The most enjoyable thing for me has been getting to know everyone else in the workplace. I’ve been given projects to support on since the start which has helped to contextualise my learning. Being able to put your theoretical knowledge into practice has been really nice.

What's an ambition for you moving forward?

I’m looking forward to continuing to learn and working towards being on the same level as some of my colleagues and having the knowledge and expertise to support complex client requirements.

Paolo Paletta moved to London in 2011 from Italy and is excited about using technology to improve people’s lives. He enjoys trying food from different cultures.

How did you find the interview process?

The interview process was very interesting as I got exposed to lots of people at Pracedo very early on which gave me the opportunity to understand the various professional roles. I also got the opportunity to learn about the company and ask some questions myself.

What's an ambition for you moving forward?

I’m looking forward to learning lots more and starting to become an expert on different products. My goal is to become a full consultant and to build my knowledge around CPQ & Billing as well as Sales Cloud.

What would you say to others wanting to follow in your footsteps?

My advice would be to not be afraid. You can come from any industry with any personal experience and an apprenticeship gives you a good opportunity to enter the work environment. It’s a great way of backing up your theoretical knowledge with practical experience and learning something new in an approachable away.

Zoe Nicholson joins Pracedo with Salesforce experience as a system user. She’s now focused on learning Pardot and Marketing Cloud. In her spare time she likes horse riding and exploring the countryside.

Why did you choose an apprenticeship in the Salesforce ecosystem?

I had some experience of Salesforce as a system user from a previous job. I thought it was really user friendly and could offer huge benefits to organisations.

How did you find the interview process?

During the Kickstarter day, it was really nice to meet everyone. For the interview, we had to deliver a presentation around why the Apple Sales team should use Salesforce. I considered what some of the issues Apple could be facing were and then how Salesforce might be able to address it. I focused my presentation round CPQ & Billing and how that would work for their team. It gave us some exposure early on and let me know what I was preparing myself for.

What's an ambition for you moving forward?

I’m looking forward to starting to earn some certifications and helping out more on projects. I also want to continue learning to help become a product expert.
