About HSBC

In our world, careers are just different. With 200,000 employees and 40 million clients across the globe, we’ll give you greater opportunities, clearer purpose and more meaningful impact.

You can be different too. Here, everyone belongs. We appreciate every background, but it’s where you’re heading that we’re really interested in. Your qualities, not qualifications.

Whoever you are, this is an organisation you’ll thrive in. Inclusivity isn’t an obligation to us, it’s in our DNA. We’re 50 nationalities speaking 144 languages. You’ll feel understood and supported among like-minded colleagues, but also challenged and developed by new perspectives.

Your skills are the priority, not what you’ve studied. Influencing people or producing innovative ideas, you’ll discover and refine parts of yourself you never knew existed.

Through structured development programmes, engaging mentor and buddy schemes and more, you’ll grow the kind of in-demand, agile skills that can take your long-term career to places you may have never dreamed of. As you work on purposeful projects with high-profile clients, delivering global impact from day one.

Whether you’re an investment banker, relationship manager or engineer, you’ll shape your path and enjoy all the benefits that come with being part of something bigger.

First Year Insight opportunities

Get a taste of what life with us is really like. Our paid, four-day Insight Programmes are open to first-year or second-year university students who graduate in 2028. These opportunities can be found in Birmingham, Sheffield and London and will run in April 2026. They are also an opportunity to fast-track into the summer internship roles in 2027.

Internship opportunities

We’ll help you decide what you want. If you’re in your penultimate year of undergraduate study, join one of our internships to develop skills and explore the opportunities that come with working for one of the world’s largest financial organisations. This is also an opportunity to fast-track into our Global Graduate Programmes in 2027.

Global Graduate Programmes

We offer exciting Graduate Programmes worldwide. For people with all degrees, not just finance. After all, diversity helps us deliver different to our customers. While helping you develop deeper, more varied and future-ready skills. You’ll start your programme in July 2026.

Opportunities for final year/graduated students

In some areas, we also have opportunities for final year students, recent graduates and post-graduates. These are on our Off-Cycle Internship Programmes, Graduate Insight Programme and Global Graduate Programmes.
