About us
The role is based within the Facilities Management and Real Estate (FMRE UK) organisation at Filton site. The candidate will work across the whole Airbus UK portfolio of sites with direct accountability into the Airbus Customer Facing UK team.
FMRE UK is responsible for a huge range of deliverables to Airbus UK, including but not limited to; Real Estate and General Zoning management, Aerodrome management, Energy and Supply, Major Building and Construction projects as well as Maintenance, Catering and Cleaning to name a few.
Working within the FMRE UK function; this exciting opportunity offers successful applicants the chance to influence and drive change in a challenging, diverse department, matured over recent years to an integrated “ONE FMRE” team incorporating both Airbus Commercial and Airbus Defence & Space (ADS) across the UK.
What will you be doing?
As the successful candidate, you will…
- Support the site HO Customer Facing with the financial management of budgets and forecasting
- Participate in capital investment (CapEX) planning and projects according to Airbus principles
- Develop site strategies alongside the HO Customer Facing for the site to include: space management, sustainability, real estate, services etc.
- Integrate an MFT approach across the Facilities Management team in the UK, leading projects that support workplace improvements across the site as part of the company Better Workplace project
- Face customers and ensure accurate and timely reporting, supported by transparent performance metrics to continually improve the service we provide
- Develop relationships across the site at all levels to be able to anticipate business needs
Requirements
Our placements are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement. Please inform your graduation date on your application.
As the successful candidate you will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Studying towards a degree in Facilities Management, Business Management, Operational Management, or equivalent
- An interest in finding creative solutions to complex problems
- Ability to make decisions based on evidence
- Good stakeholder management skills
- A mindset to explore and work above and beyond
- Flexibility in a dynamic environment
Security clearance: You will be subject to a BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check. You may also need to gain UK SC-level Security Clearance or Export Control, depending on the role.
