We are currently seeking to recruit a Paralegal to join our growing Property Litigation team in our Exeter office on a full-time, permanent basis. This role would suit an experienced paralegal, law graduate or someone at the beginning of their legal career, including candidates with no previous experience in law, who are keen to learn and develop within a supportive team.
The role
In this role you will provide essential support to the fee earners in the team, to ensure all of our clients are provided with an outstanding service, by understanding their needs and delivering this in a cost effective manner, dealing with a range of property litigation matters. You will be involved in a varied workload and gain hands-on exposure to property litigation matters, with training and guidance provided throughout.
You will be fully involved in all aspects of litigation, including the preparation of Court papers, preparing correspondence that is generated as a matter progresses and speaking to clients and third parties by telephone. You can expect to provide complete management of files, taking instructions from senior members of the team and clients, whilst taking instructions to ensure that procedures are effectively handled.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in a busy litigation environment and build or develop a strong foundation for a career in law.
Who you are
You may be a law graduate, an entry-level paralegal, or someone with experience in an office-based or administrative role who is looking to move into the legal sector. No previous legal experience is required, as full training will be provided.
You will be known for being self-motivated, a good communicator and eager to learn. A strong team player, we will expect you to work proactively with colleagues to provide them with all the support they need in order to deliver great results for our clients.
You will readily understand and relate to clients’ needs and be able to cope with pressures associated with handling multiple caseloads. We will need you to be a quick learner, and have excellent IT skills, being meticulous and thorough in order to deliver high quality work.
Our relationships with our clients are paramount. You will be able to demonstrate your ability to build strong and lasting relationships with clients and show a genuine commitment to their business needs. Being self-motivated and ambitious, you will be keen to learn more about the sector.
In return, as well as supporting your professional development through regular training, we will help you to grow your professional networks both internally and externally, providing an excellent foundation to go on and qualify as a lawyer with the firm, which many of our paralegals have done previously.
