We’ve designed this programme for undergraduates with a placement year built into their course to gain valuable work experience at the heart of the UK’s financial system. You’ll learn more about our role in the economy, gain on-the-job skills and attend regular training and events with your fellow Industrial Placement colleagues.

This could be right for you if you are

  • keen to learn about what we do and gain practical experience
  • eager to gain a unique insight into the workings of the UK's central bank
  • looking to build your network and find out more about future career opportunities at the Bank of England.

Fact box

  • length of contract: 13 months
  • start date: end of July 2027
  • location: London
  • salary: £27,000 per annum, paid pro rata for the 13-month contract, as well as our comprehensive benefits package

To apply for the Supervision stream you must meet the below requirements:

  • Be studying an undergraduate degree in any discipline that allows you to do a placement year (starting from next July)

For most of our streams, we’re more interested in your motivation and potential than what you study. We want to know what has sparked your interest in your chosen stream, whether that be through your studies, a personal project, a club or society, or something you’ve explored online. Whatever inspired you, we want to hear about it and why’d you’d like to develop your career with us.
