Main duties & responsibilities

Our Capital Markets department offers advisory services for corporates across both debt and equity products. The Equity Capital Markets team in London originates and executes IPOs, Rights Issues, Placements and Equity-Linked products for clients in UK and Ireland, Germany-Austria-Switzerland, Nordic region, Netherlands Belgium, Spain, Portugal and Italy. As an Intern you will work on all products and regions as described above.

Main tasks will include:

  • Working on presentations for pitches and transaction executions
  • Being actively involved in origination and execution of transactions
  • Research and analysis for potential transaction opportunities
  • Taking on responsibility for market updates to clients
  • Participation in internal ECM meetings
  • Maintenance of internal databases
  • Daily market monitoring to identify market trends in real time

What you'll need

  • The ideal candidate will be studying an Economics, Finance or Mathematical Undergraduate or Master’s Degree.
  • You will have a genuine interest and knowledge of financial markets and products as well as strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • You should also have a hard working profile and be able to cope with pressure.
  • Previous experience in an Investment Banking / ECM role preferable.
  • Excellent language skills in English and an additional European language will be an advantage (especially German, Spanish, Italian, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish or Dutch).
  • A good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite is crucial to this position.
