We are looking for an Area Technical Manager to join our Steelmaking team in Scunthorpe. This is an exciting technical role that offers the opportunity to develop your expertise while supporting quality, process performance and continuous improvement within a designated area of our steelmaking operation.

Working closely with Manufacturing Managers, Improvement Engineers and operational teams, you will help maintain process stability, support product quality and contribute to the safe and efficient production of steel products that meet customer requirements.

You will gain hands on experience monitoring process performance, investigating technical issues, analysing quality data and identifying opportunities for improvement. With support from experienced colleagues, you will help develop and maintain technical standards, operating procedures and codes of practice, ensuring compliance with our Quality Management System and customer specifications.

The role offers excellent exposure to technical trials, problem solving activities and improvement projects, providing an opportunity to develop your analytical skills and make a tangible impact on operational performance. You will also work with a wide range of stakeholders including production teams, engineers, customers and suppliers, building valuable experience in a large-scale manufacturing environment.

A key part of the role will involve learning about the steelmaking process and helping to promote technical understanding across the operation, supporting colleagues in meeting process requirements and quality standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded graduate or early career professional who enjoys problem solving, working with data and developing their career within a complex manufacturing environment.
