About the role

The Software Engineering team is hiring for Software Engineer.

The Software Engineer at Cboe will working within our European business at Cboe Europe, you will be part of the team that builds and operates the technology for one of the largest pan-European equities markets by value traded in Europe, alongside other exciting product developments such as our new European equity derivatives market.

Our development teams work closely with the business in Europe to develop a deep understanding of domain, and development teams in the US to build innovative products and solutions. C++ Developers at Cboe Europe are responsible for all aspects of the real time trading system, from Order Handlers, through to Matching Engines, out to Market Data and everything in between. We pride ourselves on building high-quality, high-performance systems, giving our participants the edge they need to best execute their strategies.

In this role you’ll be responsible for

  • Develop and maintain our six Equities and Derivatives Trading Environments
  • Build performant systems, with an equal focus on quality and testability
  • Work with our development and business teams to design and implement the best solution for the job
  • Provide technical support, answering questions and diagnosing the root cause of technical problems

The ideal candidate has

  • Previous experience working with modern C++ (C++11 and later)
  • A passion to learn and grow, in both technical and financial domains
  • A proactive mindset, with strong communication skills
  • Experience working and developing for Linux environments

You’ll really stand out with

  • Experience with SQL and relational databases, and Python
  • Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or similar fields
