What does this team do?

The Forensic Technology team is responsible for identifying and gathering digital evidence around our client’s biggest and most complex legal, regulatory and economic crime challenges. We help them to build solutions and conduct analysis so they can improve their overall operations and reduce risk to the business.

Our services help a varied client base, from small companies to large corporates with a global presence. We love working with data and we want to help our clients get the most from theirs, whether they are investigating potential fraud or supporting complex regulatory and legal matters. We work on highly sensitive and varied projects using new technology, combining investigative skills with technical expertise.

What skills and academic qualifications do I need?

You’ll need to have obtained or be studying towards a minimum of 104 UCAS points (if gained after 2017 – or 260 if before) from your top 3 A-Levels and have completed these by Summer 2027. We have identified 10 core skills that are essential to all our roles in Early Careers. To learn more about these skills and their detailed descriptions, please visit the 'Discover What We Look For' section in our Candidate Zone.

What kind of work will I do?

Joining our Brightstart Apprenticeship means you’ll be joining our Discovery team within Forensic Technology. They work closely with the wider Forensic Technology team as well as other teams such as Financial Crime, Forensic Accounting and many others.

The Discovery team works with data, using something called EDRM cycle (Electronic Discovery Reference Model). We help our clients navigate legal and regulatory challenges using a variety of software and technology. We work with clients across the globe to quickly collect data and provide clients with valuable face-to-face support. Graduates joining our team may have the opportunity to be involved in:

  • Digital forensics (identifying, preserving, and collecting digital evidence)
  • Forensic investigations (analysing evidence for legal cases or cyber incidents)
  • Managing vast datasets using advanced eDiscovery platforms to process
  • Filtering and preparing data for legal review, and using eDiscovery tools and technologies, including the use of AI to enhance efficiency.

Where will I work?

At Deloitte we recognise how important face-to-face interaction is for your development in a new role. We also understand that our people need flexibility, which is why we operate a hybrid system, with a combination of office and home working. If you’re in a client-facing role, you might be expected to attend client sites on certain days, while your meetings will be a mix of online and in-person events. Please note your final assessment and induction will also be in-person, to give you the opportunity to network and build relationships.

All our workspaces are accessible, however, if you require further flexibility due to a health condition or caring responsibilities, please discuss this with our team. You can find further information on our parent and carer policies here.

How will I develop?

Throughout your apprenticeship programme, you will learn a mixture of technical, business and industry-focused training, delivered through online platforms, as well as instructor led courses. No prior coding or technical skills are required, but to be successful you’ll need a passion for technology and an inquisitive mind. You will also undertake the Level 6 Digital and Technology Solutions Apprenticeship via ADA National College of Digital Skills.
