About the team
This opportunity sits within our Corporate team in Glasgow. You will work alongside trainees, lawyers and partners, supporting a range of corporate matters and gaining practical experience within a busy and collaborative legal environment.
About the role
Our Legal Graduate Programme is designed for graduates looking to take the next step towards a legal career at Freeths.
- Legal Graduates join the firm on a six-month fixed-term contract. Performance will be reviewed and assessed throughout the programme.
- After approximately four and a half months, the firm will decide whether to offer formal training, based on the graduate’s performance reviews and final assessment.
- Successful graduates will be given a date on which to commence formal training with Freeths.
- Formal training will follow the Law Society of Scotland’s PEAT 2 route: a two-year traineeship comprising supervised practical experience and rotations across different practice areas.
- During the traineeship, trainees will complete the required reviews, trainee continuing professional development and PEAT 2 record, while developing the knowledge, skills and professional experience needed to qualify as a Scottish solicitor.
Applicants must be available to commence the programme immediately or at short notice.
Please note: Candidates must have completed either an LLB in Scots law or the two-year accelerated LLB in Scots law for non-law graduates, together with the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice (PEAT 1), before applying.
