One Green Bean was first established in Sydney in 2007 and over the following decade it became the most awarded PR and content agency in Australia, working with the likes of Uber, Nike, Google, Tourism Australia and Virgin Atlantic.
In 2011, ogb became part of global communications network Havas and facilitated our founder relocating home to the UK, to launch our offices in London.
We play in a unique agency sweet spot - an agile, independently spirited, owner-operated agency with the backing and fire power of one of the world’s largest communications groups, Havas. Our clients often call us ‘a big little agency’ and it sums us up perfectly.
Role purpose
We’re looking for a platformer to join our growing team at One Green Bean. We are earned media and social specialists, creating stories that travel at the speed of share for brands that span travel, food and drink, automotive, retail, FMCG and technology.
If you’re curious about what it takes to craft a great story, have a passion for writing and want to work in a team that champions great culture and award-winning creativity in equal measure, you could be exactly who we need.
You’ll work in a cross-matrix team, alongside Account Executives, Account Managers and Account Directors, reporting into your team lead. No one day is ever the same – it’s a brilliant opportunity to get experience with brands in completely different industries and hone your writing, project management and storytelling skills.
The successful Platformer will become a vital part of our team. This is more than just an administrative support role; we’re looking for people hungry to start their careers in comms and become the next generation of consultants. An eye for detail is important (from good spelling and grammar to beautifully formatted WIP documents), a passion to learn is a must and we’ll always encourage you to share your ideas.
Other things to know about the remit and responsibilities
Writing is a big part of the job
- Press releases, content captions, case studies, briefing documents, fact packs, biographies, WIP notes, media invitations – these are just some of the things you’ll turn your hand to as part of your role.
- We’re looking for people who love to write, who have fantastic attention to detail and can apply feedback to sharpen their written work further.
It’s all about those brilliant basics
- We manage lots of projects and workstreams simultaneously, so it’s important that we nail account management. That means well-written, actionable emails, clear WIPs and WIP notes, well-planned timelines and methodically organised cost budgets and coverage trackers.
- We’re looking for a Platformer who thrives in a fast-paced environment, wants to get stuck in and is an excellent project manager.
You love creating a great story
- We’re earned media specialists, which means we craft stories that other people will want to share. A lot of work goes into creating truly agenda-setting stories, from the initial brainstorm, sharing it with the client, writing media strategies that consider the different angles and segments and working with suppliers to bring it to life (whether that’s a stunt, photo, celebrity or piece of content). You’ll be involved at every stage of the process.
- We’re looking for someone who loves consuming the news, is clued up on culture, celebrity and trends and gets geekily excited about brand stories that fly.
- As a digital-first agency, Social Media is a big part of what we do, and while we have a dedicated social media team you’d also be involved with supporting on influencer campaigns, brainstorming social content and helping us keep up with social trends.
- You don’t need to have any prior experience, but it would be great if you have a curiosity to learn about Social Media – and the wider digital/media landscape!
Building great relationships
- We have fantastic relationships with our clients, suppliers and journalists and spend a lot of time nurturing these relationships to create the best work.
- You’ll be introduced to building your ‘little black book’, will be keen to expand and strengthen your network as it grows and be excited to establish new relationships with clients and suppliers. You’ll be coached on pitching stories to journalists and sharing the updates for which you are responsible in client meetings.
