Monday 26 - Thursday 29 October 2026

HFW is committed to improving social mobility within the legal profession. As part of this commitment, we run our Access to Law Work Experience Programme to help students from lower socioeconomic backgrounds gain insight into careers in the legal sector, build employability skills, and expand their professional networks.

Work Experience Programme

HFW is a sector focused global law firm specialising in aerospace, construction, insurance, commodities, energy, and shipping. We have over 700 lawyers (including 180 partners) with 22 offices across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific. We will be hosting a four-day in person work experience programme for up to 20 students in year 13 at our London office during the October half-term. The week is designed to provide an overview of the firm and the different career opportunities in the wider legal sector.

What will the week involve?

Students will take part in a range of activities including:

  • Work shadowing
  • Career insight sessions with solicitors, senior leaders, Human Resources, trainee solicitors and HFW clients
  • A mock arbitration activity
  • A visit to a local barrister’s chamber
  • Networking opportunities
