An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented individual to join our First Team Performance Analysis department, in this newly created role.

The role

You may already work for a football data provider, or be an aspiring analyst or coach, or a recent graduate with a strong tactical understanding of the game. If you are looking for a role that you can shape and influence, this could be an ideal position for you. Training will be provided, so previous experience is not a prerequisite. We are looking for someone with a growth mindset, curiosity, a creative approach to collecting and interpreting data, attention to detail, and a genuine desire to add value to our environment.

About you

Candidates must have an undergraduate degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, for example, Performance Analysis, Sports Science, or Sports Coaching, combined with a strong understanding of data and its application in football.

The varied nature of this role will require applicants to have excellent communication skills, a well-organised approach to work, and comprehensive knowledge and understanding of football tactics.

This role also requires flexibility and a willingness to work non-standard hours in accordance with the needs of the Club. The successful candidate may be required to travel to away fixtures with the First Team, while also supporting home fixtures. You must be able to quickly adjust to the requirements of the role, also forming positive relationships with other team members and demonstrating commitment to the Club’s ambitions.

This is a rare opportunity to work in a professional football club, helping to shape the data that underpins player recruitment and First Team performance. You will work alongside experienced practitioners in a high-performance environment where your work will have genuine impact on football decisions. If you have the specified qualifications and personal attributes and are enthusiastic about the variety and opportunities that this role offers, we would love to hear from you.

Safeguarding

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and we expect all staff and other stakeholders to share this commitment. As this role will involve the supervision of and work with children and young people or vulnerable adults, the successful candidate will require an Enhanced Criminal Records Check (CRC) through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and clearance to work in football.

Applicants must disclose all previous convictions including spent convictions in accordance with the associated legislation; disclosure may be via a separate letter addressed to the Head of Human Resources and EDI. The amendments to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (2013 and 2020) provide that when applying for certain jobs and activities, certain convictions and cautions are considered ‘protected’. This means that they do not need to be disclosed to employers, and if they are disclosed, employers cannot take them into account.

Guidance about whether a conviction or caution should be disclosed can be found on the Ministry of Justice website.
