What is Tax at KPMG?

Tax is changing quickly, shaped by new technology, increased regulation and greater expectations around transparency. Governments are also using tax to support environmental and social goals. It makes this a fast-moving, challenging and exciting area to begin your career.

We help clients understand these developments, navigate complex requirements and stay compliant by providing timely, accurate advice and information.

Tax Graduate Programme

In Tax we work with a huge variety of organisations, spanning different sizes, structures and sectors. Our work covers International, Business and Indirect Taxes, supporting clients with transactions and domestic and global tax obligations, through to People Taxes, where we advise on employee reward and compliance for internationally mobile workforces, high-net-worth individuals and entrepreneurial families.

You’ll build valuable technical skills and your professional network in an inclusive environment, supported by senior leaders, peers and our wider Tax community. With such a broad range of work, you’ll have many opportunities to shape a career that plays to your strengths and ambitions.

Training and benefits

On this programme, you’ll study towards the ACA professional qualification or CA equivalent in Scotland. These qualifications are fully funded by KPMG and are supported by an extensive programme of internal training spanning both personal and professional development.

We offer a competitive salary and a host of great benefits too, including 25 days’ holiday, study leave and a day off on your birthday. What’s more, you can take up to six days of time off to take part in volunteering initiatives.

Our firm’s hybrid working model balances the flexibility of working from home with the importance of collaborating and learning in our offices or at the sites of the organisations we audit. We trust our people to be where they need to be, with our colleagues working together in person as often as needed.

Seeing the whole picture

As part of the Tax team, you will be building friendships and shared experiences, innovating, and learning together. KPMG is a place where you can be yourself and give your best - whoever you are and whatever your background.  We look at more than just your academic results and will also consider your strengths, values and motivations. If you’re collaborative and good with people, that can be just as important as your ability to pick up key technical skills. See the specific programme page on our Careers Portal for entry requirements and our ‘Applying to KPMG’ section for detailed application guidance.
