Role overview and the purpose of the role

An Assistant Digital Engineer supports the implementation of Digital Engineering and Information Management on construction projects by developing 3D digital models, managing project information, applying industry standards and collaborating with project teams to improve the planning, design, delivery and operation of the built asset.

Key responsibilities – what you’ll do

  • Assist in developing and maintaining 3D models and digital engineering outputs
  • Support the production of project information, assist with model coordination and clash detection activities
  • Maintain project data, asset information and digital records
  • Support the implementation of Digital Engineering standards and ISO 19650 processes
  • Upload, manage and distribute information through Common Data Environments (CDEs)
  • Assist with project reporting, dashboards and progress tracking
  • Support digital rehearsals, visualisations and construction planning activities
  • Contribute to quality assurance checks on models and information
  • Assist project teams and supply chain partners with digital workflows and tools
  • Support the capture and sharing of lessons learned and best practices
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of Digital Engineering processes and capabilities

Our projects are based across the UK (National) so you’ll need to be prepared to be flexible about where you work. Depending on project requirements, this may involve travelling, staying away from home during the week, or relocating closer to a project site. In return, you’ll gain valuable experience working on a variety of projects, helping you develop your skills and broaden your career opportunities.
