Role overview and the purpose of the role

You’ll be part of the Group Financial Reporting team, working with qualified technical accountants responsible for delivering the Group’s external financial reporting as well as monthly Group management accounts, technical accounting support to the Hubs, and other adhoc requests from the CFO. This will enable you to apply your accounting knowledge to real life financial statement preparation, management accounts, and technical accounting.

Key responsibilities - what you’ll do

  • Preparation of consolidated monthly management accounts
  • Preparation of monthly reporting packs including analysis of key movements in the month
  • Preparation of statutory financial statements at year end
  • Liaising with and responding to queries from external auditors (PwC)
  • Understanding key variances to budget for head office entities
  • Continuous improvement of financial processes and alignment of management and statutory reporting
  • Implementation of digital tools and/or AI to help improve process where possible
  • Apply accounting knowledge learned through degree and/or ACCA/ICAEW studies to day-to-day work
  • Prepare technical accounting papers referencing IFRS accounting standards as required
  • Prepare balance sheet control reconciliations

Preferably Finance, Accounting, Economics, but other business related degrees considered

Our projects are based across the UK (National) so you’ll need to be prepared to be flexible about where you work. Depending on project requirements, this may involve travelling, staying away from home during the week, or relocating closer to a project site. In return, you’ll gain valuable experience working on a variety of projects, helping you develop your skills and broaden your career opportunities.
