See how big deals get done

At Lloyds Banking Group, we like to think big. That’s why we work with corporate and institutional clients across the UK and the USA, supporting organisations with annual turnovers of more than £100 million.

We’re the partner they turn to when the stakes are high – whether that’s funding major infrastructure, backing housing and manufacturing projects, supporting higher education and regional development, or helping them navigate an ever-changing financial landscape. And on the CIB Markets Industrial Placement, you’ll get a front-row seat for how it all works.

One year. Lasting impact

From transaction banking to risk management and debt financing, we’re experts in it all. And now, as we invest in new products, digital trade solutions and capital markets growth, you’ll get to dip your toes in financial markets, client interactions and commercial decision-making – while amassing technical, analytical and stakeholder management skills at the same time.

The work you could be doing

Across the placement, you’ll be involved in a number of things. These include:

  • Helping financial markets and trading teams price, execute and book transactions accurately, while keeping risk and control front of mind
  • Getting involved in risk management activity, from portfolio analysis and scenario modelling to hedging, performance tracking and market reporting
  • Turning data into useful insight by producing and analysing MI, market data and performance reports that help teams make better decisions
  • Working closely with teams across Sales, Risk, Finance, Treasury and Relationship Management to help deliver better outcomes for clients and the business
  • Supporting client onboarding and relationship management, helping corporate and institutional clients receive a joined-up service
  • Spotting opportunities for growth by exploring market trends, client needs and product opportunities across financial markets
  • Helping prepare presentations, committee papers and senior stakeholder updates
  • Playing a part in strategic projects, process improvements and automation initiatives that make teams work smarter and more efficiently
  • Building your understanding of capital, funding, liquidity, treasury and financial market products – and the regulatory environment behind them
  • Carrying out research, analysis and ad hoc projects that respond to business priorities, market developments and client-focused opportunities

Skills that never leave your side

By the end of the programme, you’ll have developed skills that go beyond the classroom.

These include:

  • The technical know-how to understand financial markets, treasury products and the systems behind trading activity
  • The analytical confidence to read data, spot patterns and turn complex information into useful insights
  • The judgment to work in a regulated environment where accuracy, control, and risk awareness matter
  • The stakeholder skills to work with different teams, bring people with you and keep things moving

The best part? If you show us what you can do, this placement could become the first step towards a future graduate role with us.
